ST. LOUIS – June 8, 2019
LUZCO Technologies, Inc. participated in the 4th Annual Civil Giving Wiffle Ball Tournament, on Saturday June 8, 2019. The community event raised funds for Gene Slay’s Girls & Boys Club, an organization which provides holistic programs aimed to empower St. Louis’s at-risk and underserved youth.
Team members Edgar Velazquez, Adrienne Scott-Carrow, Ron Gales, Steven Reynolds, Adam DeRousse, Megan Rogers, Lus Haberberger and their families played under the leadership of Team Captain Jason Rogers (a.k.a. LUZCO’s Program Delivery Department Manager). Rogers, who truly exemplifies LUZCO’s drive for investing in the St. Louis community, was responsible for organizing LUZCO’s participation in the event.
The Wiffleball Tournament is an annual event spearheaded by Civil Design Inc.’s charitable initiative, Civil Giving. As part of the organization’s goal to “Build Stronger Communities,” CDI invites local engineering and business leaders who share its community-building beliefs. In addition to raising money and awareness for Gene Slay’s Girls & Boys Club, Civil Giving presented the first and second place winners with donations to the charity of their choice.
LUZCO’s wiffle ball team received second place in the tournament, awarding the company with the opportunity to donate $500 to Casa de Salud. In addition to the team’s impressive performance, team member Steven Reynolds was just points away from receiving first place in the Homerun Derby. Way to go, LUZCO!
