October 26, 2020 (ST. LOUIS, MO) – The final pole was set on one of Ameren Missouri Smart Energy Plan projects in North St. Louis County. The upgrades on 5 miles of energy infrastructure will improve reliability for North County customers. All portions of this project have a fiber optic shield wire to assist in substation communication that will reduce outages and speed power restoration. New storm hardening composite and laminated wood poles were also added to better withstand severe weather, and new smart sensors, switches and self-healing equipment were added to rapidly detect and isolate damage – reducing outages and speeding power restoration.

All portions of this project were engineered by LUZCO Technologies. (Pictured: Ron Gales, Steven Reynolds and Matt Hebner)
